G&G Structures experience with seismic retrofits for soft-weak story (open front wall line) buildings started rigth after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Property owners, lenders, and insurance underwriters have relied on G&G Structures for over 20 years to evaluate seismic risks in multi-family buildings. We have a record of over 100 buildings designed and evaluated before the City of Los Angeles ordinance 183893 was established. Thanks to our experience, G&G Structures is at the forefront of seismic retrofits for soft-weak story buildings in the city of Los Angeles, city of Santa Monica, and other surrounding cities.
G&G Structures will carefully evaluate the building to develop the most cost efficient solution. Each building is unique and requires a different solution with proven methods that work. Some buildings can be retrofitted with new conventional shear walls or pre-manufactured shear wall panels and yet others will require a steel moment frame or a cantilevered columns (flagpole). G&G Structures can develop as-built drawings for design, engineer the seismic retrofit, and assist with the permit process for our clients.
